Emanuela Monni
BIO
Emanuela Monni is an Italian drummer based in North London, whose versatility and open minded approach has made her a generative force in projects of all stripes. After more than a decade spent training at conservatoires and academies in Italy, her move to London in 2014 sparked collaborations on array of projects from Reggae, Electronic, Big Band, Folk, African, Brass Band to Alternative and many more.
Emanuela plays a pivotal creative role across several of her current projects, including Rooftop Assembly (an ascendent grime/folk fusion band which grew from the nationally acclaimed “Rooftop Sessions” concerts during lockdown) Biako Ye (a self directed original composition project working with source material from her studies in Ghana), and Join The Din: the experimental neo-jazz collective behind “Honk!” - a live session series which sees musicians and contemporary dancers involved in an open and improvised dialogue.
In addition, Emanuela is a resident musician and accompanist for contemporary dance academies including ‘The Place’ and ‘Rambert’.
